Grants

Funding grants are one of a valuable range of fundraising options available to sporting clubs. Sporting clubs are encouraged to maintain an annual diary, as most funding grants are cyclical. This will mean you are well prepared when the funding grant you require is released or opened to the public.

Key considerations when your club is applying for a grant:

  • Grants cannot be utilised in retrospect. Grants will not refund any purchases you have already made.
  • Please ensure your application is aligned with the intention on the grant. For example, if the grant is community-based, consider how the grant will strengthen the community, and not just your club on its own.
  • Ensure you have read all eligibility requirements and guidelines.
  • Be intentional and specific with your applications – grants are not “handouts”.
  • Sports Focus cannot apply for and complete the grant application on your behalf, but we can be there to support you through the steps.

Don’t forget that our Sports Focus Staff are available to provide assistance to clubs in applying for funding grants.  If you have any questions or require assistance with the application, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
