Sports Focus work to develop partnerships that reflect our goals and core values of Trust, Respect, Authenticity, Sustainability and Creativity. These partnerships enable us to both promote key messages that support a stronger and more inclusive sporting club environment and address issues of community importance.
Supporting Gender Equality in Sport
Sports Focus continues to advocate for sporting environments that are safe, welcoming and inclusive of women and girls. To achieve gender equality in our sporting clubs starts with respect for women.
Sports Focus is a member of the Greater Bendigo Coalition for Gender Equity.
The Coalition’s vision is to see a community where all people are respected, safe to participate in all aspects of community life and have equitable access to the resources they need to succeed in achieving their aspirations, whilst living in a community that is free from violence against women.
Racism in Sport
Increasing participation by all members of our community means that we need to ensure our sporting club environments are safe and respectful.
Sports Focus is proud to have joined forces with some of Australia’s leading businesses, sporting bodies, and NGO’s to support the national “Racism. It Stops With Me” campaign.
Our organisation has committed to preventing racism by pledging to undertake activities in support of the campaign. Racism is never acceptable and we all have a responsibility to stand up against it.
The campaign, which is being led by the Australian Human Rights Commission, has been developed by a partnership of government and non-government agencies.
