I’ve Got an Issue: Child Safety

Ensuring your club is a safe place for children and young people isn’t just a legal obligation, it’s the right thing to do and forms part of your duty of care and moral obligation to your club members.

The safety of children and young people in a sporting club environment is paramount and a non-negotiable.

Ask yourself the following:

  • Is our club meeting the legislative requirements for child safety?
  • Are we providing an environment that is welcoming and safe for children and young people?

Sports Focus can assist a club committee to navigate their legislative requirements related to the 11 Child Safety Standards and support to embed a strong culture of child safety.

Our process begins with a two hour facilitated conversation with the committee to assess their specific needs and challenges. Following this, clubs will be provided with a tailored action plan for implementation.

Additionally, we offer a range of fee-for-service options, including the development of a Child Safety Policy, Commitment Statement to Child Safety, and Code of Conduct/Behaviour – embedding child safety, among others.
