Sports Focus is committed to providing ongoing support to community sporting clubs in the Loddon Campaspe. We want to increase the capacity and capabilities of grassroots sporting clubs and to encourage healthy, inclusive and connected communities.

We offer the following workshops to support clubs, leagues, and associations through workforce development opportunities. We also aim to be responsive to emerging needs of club volunteers so talk to us about what might assist your club.

Child Protection and Safeguarding

The Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction course by Sport Integrity Australia is here to help you better understand what safeguarding is and how you can understand Safeguarding Children and Young People in sport.

This free online course is for players, volunteers, coaches, officials and administrators in sport.

Harassment and Discrimination

This Play by the Rules course is a free, interactive online training course suitable for coaches, administrators, officials, players, parents and spectators.

The course provides information to help you understand:

  • what harassment and discrimination is
  • your rights and responsibilities under equal opportunity and laws
  • how the laws apply to sporting organisations, clubs, their employees and volunteers
  • when, where and how to report incidents
  • how to establish a welcoming and inclusive environment at your club or organisation.

Complaint Handling course

The free online course is aimed at administrators, coaches, officials and anyone with an interest in the welfare of sports club, association or organisation members. The course contains ten modules and is designed so that learners can pick and choose the topics of interest to them.

The modules are:

  • Introduction
  • Complaint Resolution Procedure
  • Member Protection and the Law
  • Listening and Responding Effectively (Communication Skills)
  • Meeting with a Contact (Complaint Handling – The Starting Point)
  • Ethical and Practical Considerations
  • Nipping it in the Bud (Early Intervention Strategies)
