Sports Focus is proud to have partnered with City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Community Health Services to deliver a jam-packed This Girl Can Week, full of fun, free and girl-friendly events!
This Girl Can Week is running from 9th – 15th October 2023, and we’ve rounded up some local sport and active recreation providers to deliver activities for those who identify as a woman or girl. Check them out below!
This Girl Can Victoria advocates for all women – cis, trans, non-binary and gender diverse – to get active in supportive and welcoming environments. These activities are welcoming and inclusive of anyone who identifies as a woman or girl.
Come and try rowing with the Bendigo Rowing Club! No experience needed, all equipment is provided.

Join Bendigo Community Health Services for a strength session using outdoor fitness stations.

Come and try paddling with Goldfields Paddlers! No experience necessary. Please bring a towel in case you get wet!

Join self-defence trainer, Tracey to learn some new skills!

Cost: $5 per person, payable in cash on the day
Come and try tennis in a fun and supportive environment. For those that haven’t played before or need to build confidence. This free session covers the basics of tennis and hitting a ball. Open to woman and girls (aged 12 years and over). Come in comfortable clothing, appropriate shoes and bring a drink bottle. All equipment including a tennis racket is provided.

Cardio Tennis combines a cardiovascular workout with tennis drills, set to a high-energy sound track, for a 1-hour session that’s guaranteed to get the heart pumping. Sessions include a fun class for pre-schoolers at the same time!
