Sports Focus are very excited to announce that we have been successful in our application to the City of Greater Bendigo’s Partnering for Impact (PFI) grant. This grant has been awarded to eight (8) local organisations in Bendigo to support multi-year projects.
Our project will aim to support LGBTQIA+ access and inclusion in community sport, active recreation and play.
Here’s what the City of Greater Bendigo had to say…
“The PFI Grants are a newly established category within the City’s Community Grants Program that offer local organisations the opportunity to apply for up to $75,000 in funding over the grant’s three-year life span, with a maximum of $25,000 in any one financial year,” Cr Andrea Metcalf said.
“The funded activities will contribute to community priorities identified in the Greater Bendigo Council Plan 2021-2025 Mir wimbul or Healthy Greater Bendigo 2021-2025.
Last year we reviewed the Community Grants Policy and Program to ensure they were supporting changing community needs, were fairer and that community grants were easier to apply for.
The PFI Grants respond to community feedback that multi-year grants will increase the potential for strategic partnering and impact and enable grant recipients to plan and move forward with greater confidence.
The City’s Community Grants are greatly valued. Many different clubs, groups and organisations have received funding to undertake an array of activities that have helped to make our region a great place to live, play, work and visit.”
