Regional Events Fund: Supporting Events Across Regional Victoria
Community sport plays a big role in bringing people together—and if your club or organisation is planning an event, there’s funding available to help you grow it.
The Regional Events Fund supports events that attract visitors to regional Victoria, boost local businesses, and create strong community outcomes. This includes sporting events like tournaments, competitions, and championships.
What Funding Is Available?
There are three streams:
- Stream 1: Major events (one-off or ongoing)
- Stream 2: Up to $500,000 to grow larger events
- Stream 3: Up to $50,000 to support marketing, operations, and event delivery
Who Can Apply?
- Sporting clubs and associations
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Councils and event organisers
If your event can bring people into your region, you may be eligible.
How to Apply
- Check the funding guidelines
- Speak with your local Visitor Economy Partnership (VEP)
- Get a letter of support (required for Streams 2 & 3)
- Apply online via SmartyGrants
