The On Your Bike! project wrapped up in Long Gully last weekend with a bike education workshop hosted by Bike Bendigo and free community BBQ at the Long Gully BMX Track. Was great to see young people learning about bike safety, receiving a free helmet and trying out the BMX track and local paths.
It was a wonderful event that brought the community together in a fun and educational way. The participants not only learned important skills about bike safety but also had the chance to experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike. The free helmets provided will help ensure that they can continue to ride safely in the future. The event was a fantastic way to promote physical activity and healthy living in Long Gully. Let’s hope initiatives like this continue to flourish and inspire more people to get on their bikes and explore the great outdoors.
A huge thank you to Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre, Healthy Loddon Campaspe, Bike Bendigo, FreeWheeling Fun and of course VicRoads for funding the event.
