La Trobe Rural Health School Conference

On the 25^th of July 2024, La Trobe University Bendigo held their La Trobe Rural Health School Conference- Solutions Focused Rural Health Research event. With over 200 attendees from more than 50 organisations, the conference offered a valuable and significant opportunity to have face-to-face interactions, network, collaborate and share information, in the efforts to enhance community wellbeing.

Lauren Fawcett, Club Development & Special Projects Lead at Sports Focus, presented alongside Kirsty Forsdike, Associate Dean for Research and Industry Engagement at La Trobe University, on their partnership project, Addressing gender-based violence in and through rural and regional sports communities. Built around partnerships and community collaboration, their project aims to develop a whole-of-community approach to address gender-based violence through sport in the Loddon Campaspe Region.
