Federal Volunteer Grants 2025–2026 – Expressions of Interest Now Open

Community organisations across the Bendigo electorate are encouraged to apply for the 2025–2026 Federal Volunteer Grants program.

The program provides grants of $1,000 to $5,000 to support the important work of volunteers. Funding can be used to purchase equipment or resources that strengthen volunteer-run activities and support the wellbeing and development of local community groups.

A total of $66,665 is available for organisations in the Bendigo electorate through the office of Lisa Chesters.

Who can apply

Eligible organisations include volunteer-involving not-for-profits such as:

  • Community organisations

  • Sporting clubs

  • Volunteer groups

  • Local charities

What the funding can support

Grants may be used to:

  • Purchase equipment or small infrastructure that supports volunteers

  • Improve the capacity of volunteer-run programs

  • Support activities that benefit young people and community wellbeing

Expressions of Interest process

As with previous rounds, organisations must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

EOIs will be reviewed and scored by an independent community consultation committee, which will consider:

  • How the project benefits volunteers in the community

  • How the project supports children and young people under 18

  • How well the project meets the grant guidelines

  • The value for money of the project

Organisations that are successful at this stage will then be invited to apply for the grant through the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

Funding from this round will be distributed from October 2026.
