Set The Standard: Anti-Racism Workshops for Community Sport

Interested in bringing a fully subsidised anti-racism workshop to your club?

Community sport should be a place where everyone feels welcome, safe and respected. Yet research has found that 56% of respondents had experienced or witnessed racism in community sport, with 75% of those incidents occurring within the previous 12 months.

That’s why VicHealth developed Set The Standard — an initiative providing community sporting clubs with practical tools, resources and access to subsidised anti-racism training.

Build confidence. Create safer clubs.

Delivered by Reflect Forward, these one-hour workshops give club leaders the confidence and practical skills to recognise racism, respond appropriately and create more inclusive club environments.

Club leaders will walk away with simple, actionable strategies to help ensure players, coaches, officials, volunteers and the wider community feel safe, respected and valued.

Is your club eligible?

Fully subsidised workshops are available to clubs affiliated with AFL Victoria, Basketball Victoria, Cricket Victoria, Football Victoria, Netball Victoria, NRL Victoria or Tennis Victoria.

Sessions are limited. Get in touch with the Sport Focus team to find out more and book a workshop for your club.

Together, we can Set The Standard for more welcoming and inclusive community sport.
